Patients in England who need to see a specialist, in many cases are now given more choice over where to receive their hospital treatment. This system that is used to refer them is called the E-Referrals System. Not all appointments are available on the E-Referrals System .
Research shows that patients want to be more involved in making decisions about their healthcare. The aim of the E-Referal System is to give patients more options when making a decision about which hospital they will be treated at.
